Part of the worldwide Yageo Corporation, Phycomp is a major player in surface mounted ceramics. The company has a long history in ceramic technology and in the development of innovative ceramic-based solutions for todayÕs electronic equipment industries Ð mainly in the telecommunication, EDP and digital consumer areas. Formerly part of the Philips Components organisation, Phycomp is well established as a supplier of multilayer ceramic capacitors ( MLCCs ) and surface-mount resistors ( R-chips ) manufactured in state-of-the-art production facilities located around the world. Their production facility in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, for example, is the widely regarded as a major centre in Asia Pacific for innovative manufacturing, while their centre in Roermond, The Netherlands, is the largest production facility for MLCCs in Europe. Phycomp also has full access to the Yageo R-chip production capacity. From Philips roots, Phycomp has inherited a highly-developed commitment to environmental protection reflected in technologies and industrial practices and in aggressive target for energy, water, waste and emission reduction. The company also pioneered, and still leads, the development of water-based technologies and leads in the development of lead-free dielectrics for MLCC ranges, and the replacements of palladium with less expensive base-metal electrodes ( BME ) in MLCC ranges.
